For those with back yard pools do not be afraid of using pool salt instead of the chlorine. Both keep the water clean. But the salt does not evaporate. We bought a large bag last year and we are still using it.

The only "problem" is that you can not have both in the water at the same time. So when you first fill your pool add the salt. I was thinking you needed a different filter. But no. The one that comes with the pool will work for both.
