Miracles

This next year 2015 is going to be exciting.
I am anticipating a real out pouring of the Holy Spirit upon the world. It has already started. But there will be more and more Christians re-examining and reclaiming the power that has been bestowed upon us by the Father of all.
Something has been lost over the centuries that we are finding again.

Last year as I was reading the book of Acts I was astonished at the power the new believers held over sickness, death, hunger. No one had any real authority within the church itself as in deacons, pastors, priests. Even the richer ones gave up their gold in order to help the hungry. Everyone was equal under the blood.

Philip, Stephen, Silas, Apollo, Barnabus, John-Mark, Peter and Paul, John and others all did miracles. It was just part of the filling of the Holy Spirit's indwelling.  There was nothing special about them.

The disciples who came from a fishing heritage were not as poor as we have been lead to believe. The Romans were very happy to eat the Jewish fish soup that was "bottled" in Bethsaida.

Just found out that Joseph, the father of Jesus was more likely to be stone carver and not a wood carver!! Not too many trees in the desert to turn into tables and chairs!!  Apparently the Greek word was closer to "tradesman" then actual carpenter- but I am not the expert.

Another thing about the Christmas story. Somehow, the little family of 3 waited for the wise men, the visitors from the east to show up in their "new" community of Bethlehem in order for all the scriptures to be fulfilled. After magi returned home, then the family went to Egypt as refugees.
