more tips for feeding children

One of my friends is from Korea. she introduced me frozen "dumplings" or "pot stickers" or "won tuns".They are meat and vegetables cut really small and placed in a "egg roll" wrapper. Fried in a little oil. And then they are dipped in a vinegar/soy sauce mix. My kids love these as does my husband.
You can buy the frozen in a variety of flavors. For the dipping sauce there are number of vinegars you can choose...from the apple cider to the more common white wine vinegar.
If you are new to the food as I was I would suggest trying the frozen just to test it out.
If it is a winner as it was in our house then it might be a tasty way to get veggies etc into your children.
Lots of choices with this recipe...
  1.    Pick a ground up type of meat-beef, chicken, or pork.
  2. While at the store also pick up some egg roll wrappers (-ones with coconut oil are the best tasting.)
  3.   Find some vegetables-rutabaga, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, celery, cabbage, brussel sprouts. Whatever you have wanted to feed your child.Cut up really small.
  4.  Fry it up. You may want to season your meat-BBQ sauce works for me.
  5. Remove the meat from the pan and then add you veggies. or vice versa... Make sure to season your veggies too with the BBQ sauce or soya, or what ever spice.
  6. Cook until the veggies are tender.
  7. Do not add MSG. Make sure your sauce also does not have this "magic" ingredient. This is hard to do. I have only found three BBQ Sauce companies that do not use it.
  8. While you are cooking this your children can be separating the wrappers.
  9. Now mix the meat and the veggies together in a bowl at the table
  10. Time to get the mixture onto the wrapper and then "fold" the wrapper like a burrito with the food in the center. I use a table spoon for my scooper.
  11. Seal the end with a little water as you go (like a pie)
  12. Older children can also help here.
  13. Once all the wrappers are used up it is time to cook them again.
  14. The point of frying the filled wrappers is to make them crispy.
  15. Now fry in whatever oil you have.
  16. Remove from the heat as soon as they are brown.
  17. Drain, and cool a little.
  18. Dip in soy/vinegar mixture and ENJOY.
This should take about a 1/2 hour if every this is ready to go including the helpers.
YOU can also freeze the uncooked dumplings-
